Good Clean Fun Soaps was created out of a personal desire to enjoy the benefits of glycerin soaps without the high cost encountered in specialty shops. Glycerin soap feels better on your skin and is naturally mositurizing. Much of the soap you can buy at the grocery store is actually not "soap" at all. These will be called "detergent bars," or "deoderant bars," but they cannot legally say "soap." These bars, often made from petroleum, take the moisture from your skin.
Our soaps have a palm oil base and are enhanced with cosmetic grade high quality synthetic fragrances, natural essential oils, and cosmetic-grade colors. And yes, we even have beautiful fragrance and color-free soaps.
Glycerin is a by-product of soponification. No, we did not make up that word. So, to further soap-pontificate (made up word), soap is made by combining fatty acids with lye. Soponification neutralizes the lye and releases glycerin. Our products are great for people of all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin.
Is there a down side? Not really, but let us explain this anyway. Commercial soap can last longer than glycerin, which already lasts a long time. That is because moisture-sapping chemicals are added. They remove the glycerin (to resell) and add chemicals to make their bars feel less slick to the touch and not sweat. Glycerin soaps attract moisture from the air. We notice that here in Florida more than most of you good customers will. Keep the soaps where they can dry out between uses, like in a soap dish. That will extend the life.
The fragances will tend to fade over time. Some folks like to use our soaps as a sachet at first, let the fragance fade a bit and then use them to actually wash!
Please, we keep our prices low. If you are buying these to beautify your homes or give gifts to the deserving, remember, you are also deserving. As pretty as they are, they are priced so that you can enjoy the benefits to your senses and to your sense of well-being. After all, they are Good Clean Fun Soaps!!
